Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Research Scientist - Analytical Chemistry to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the chemical or API industry and a strong background in Quality Control (QC) and Analytical Research and Development (ARD). This role is critical for conducting detailed sample analyses for R&D projects, plant troubleshooting, and customer inquiries. You will be responsible for developing and validating analytical methods, ensuring quality compliance, and providing crucial insights to support business strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sample Analysis & R&D Support: Conduct detailed analysis of samples from R&D projects, competitor products, and customer inquiries. Provide analytical support to optimize processes and develop new products.
  • Plant Troubleshooting & Quality Assurance: Analyze samples to identify and resolve manufacturing process issues. Ensure all analyses adhere to SOPs and regulatory guidelines, maintaining accurate records.
  • Method Development & Validation: Develop, verify, and validate new analytical methods. Prepare SOPs, specifications, and Certificates of Analysis (COAs), along with all relevant documentation.
  • Instrumental & Wet Analysis: Perform both wet analysis and instrumental analysis. Handle a wide range of laboratory equipment, including GC, HPLC, Karl Fischer titrator, pH meter, and stability chamber.
  • Molecular Characterization: Conduct characterization of molecules using techniques such as NMR, IR, and DSC.
  • Collaboration & Continuous Improvement: Work closely with cross-functional teams to share findings and support decision-making. Stay updated with the latest analytical techniques and technologies.
  • Safety & Compliance: Safely handle and manage gaseous cylinders, chemicals, and solvents with proper safety protocols.

Qualifications

  • A Master's degree (M.Sc.) in Chemistry.
  • Extensive analytical experience in the chemical or API industry, with a specific focus on Quality Control (QC) and Analytical Research and Development (ARD).

Skills

  • Expertise in analytical method development and validation, particularly on HPLC and GC.
  • Strong knowledge of wet analysis and instrumental techniques.
  • Proficiency in characterization methods such as NMR, IR, and DSC.
  • Strong knowledge of SOPs, specifications, and COA preparation.
  • Proficiency in software tools such as BAAN, LN, or SAP for data management.
  • Good computer and strong communication skills.
