Rheumatology

Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Instruction

• Deliver lectures and tutorials on Rheumatology and related pharmacological subjects to undergraduate and postgraduate students (Pharmacy, Medicine, etc.).
• Develop course content, materials, and assessments aligned with program learning outcomes.
• Guide students on case studies involving rheumatic disorders and pharmacological interventions.
• Supervise student projects, dissertations, and clinical internships as applicable.

Research

• Conduct independent and collaborative research in areas such as autoimmune diseases, biologic agents, DMARDs, or pharmacogenomics in rheumatology.
• Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at academic conferences.
• Seek internal and external research funding.

Clinical/Industry Collaboration (Optional based on Institution)

• Collaborate with clinicians and hospitals for practical exposure, case studies, and patient-centric education.
• Stay updated with current rheumatology drug trials, treatment protocols, and guidelines.

Academic Administration

• Participate in departmental meetings, curriculum development, and accreditation activities.
• Serve on academic committees and perform administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Essential:

• M.Pharm / Pharm.D / MBBS with specialization in Pharmacology or Internal Medicine
• Postgraduate qualification (MD / M.Pharm / MSc / PhD) in a relevant field.
• Demonstrated knowledge in Rheumatology, Immunology, and Pharmacology.

Desirable:

• Ph.D. in a relevant field or actively pursuing one.
• Clinical experience in managing rheumatic disorders (for medical lecturers).
• Publications in indexed journals.
