Merchandise Planning

Job Description

 Merchandise Assortment Planning

  • Assist in creating merchandise assortment plans for all stores aligned with sales targets
  • Develop buying plans for assigned categories including Option plans and depth analysis
  • Set Average Retail Price (ARP) targets for product categories
  • Formulate Stock to Sale plans for the season including EOM (End of Month) and BOM (Beginning of Month)
  • Calculate Open to Buy (OTB) to ensure optimal inventory levels

Monthly Target Setting & Performance Analysis

  • Provide inputs for setting monthly targets by breaking them down into product categories
  • Track target versus achievement metrics regularly
  • Prepare merchandise plan reports and analyze product performance at a Look-to-Look (Lk2Lk) level

Inventory Management & Tracking

  • Ensure ideal stock cover is maintained for each product category
  • Monitor and manage dormancy and pullback within defined norms
  • Generate weekly sell-through reports and photo sell-through reports for sales tracking

Stock & Sale Planning

  • Formulate product category-wise dispatch plans and monitor planned vs actual dispatches
  • Develop allocation plans for stores based on dispatch plans and size-wise analysis
  • Track allocation against actual dispatches to ensure accuracy

Market Intelligence & Competitive Analysis

  • Keep track of new launches including competitor products, windows, and schemes
  • Conduct competition mapping to inform merchandise strategies
  • Support training initiatives related to merchandise, product, and visual merchandising (VM)

Core Business Contribution Monitoring

  • Monitor and analyze category contribution percentage to overall business on a Look-to-Look basis
  • Identify and recommend new designs for addition to the category

Retail Design Brief Creation

  • Assist in creating retail design briefs for option grids incorporating learnings from past seasons

Integrated Go To Market (IGTM) Planning

  • Collaborate with VM and design teams for successful IGTM planning
  • Coordinate dressing up key stores and rollout of IGTM initiatives across multiple stores

Space Planning Integration

  • Work closely with retail planners to monitor returns and performance from allocated retail space
