Job Description
A Relationship Manager for Agriculture Business builds and maintains relationships with clients in the agricultural sector by acquiring new customers and deepening existing ones to grow the portfolio. Key responsibilities include offering loan products, cross-selling other banking and insurance products, and managing account performance, credit quality, and customer satisfaction through compliance with policies and risk guidelines.
Core responsibilities
- Client acquisition and management: Proactively source new clients in the agri-business sector, manage existing relationships, and work towards growing the portfolio.
- Financial product sales: Manage and grow the portfolio by offering financial solutions like working capital loans and term loans, and cross-selling products like insurance and mutual funds.
- Portfolio monitoring: Continuously monitor the performance and profitability of the client portfolio, track accounts to prevent delinquencies, and ensure business is on track with budgets.
- Credit and risk management: Assist with credit assessment, prepare credit appraisal notes, ensure compliance with policies, and work with internal teams to manage legal and risk aspects of proposals.
- Customer service: Provide high standards of customer service, act as a key point of contact for clients, and work with internal teams to ensure seamless service.
- Field work and education: Engage with clients through field visits and village-level meetings to educate them on products and digital platforms, while also gathering information for credit assessments.
