QC Engineer - Electrical

Solar Site Quality Background Mandatory

• Act as Lead Electrical Quality Engineer at site with end-to-end responsibility for electrical QA/QC activities in solar power projects.
• Possess strong working knowledge of 220 kV switchyard, including equipment erection, testing, and commissioning activities.

• Have thorough understanding of
• 1. Power Transformers
• 2. (IDT) Inverter Duty Transformers
• 3. Distribution Transformers, including inspection, testing, and commissioning.
• Ensure quality supervision of HT/LT cable laying, trenching, dressing, jointing, termination, and route management as per approved drawings and standards.
• Have practical exposure to Transformer Oil Filtration and oil quality control procedures.

• Demonstrate sound knowledge of SCADA Systems, signal checking, point-to-point testing, and integration with inverter and switchyard systems.
• Possess hands-on experience with IOGC Panels, protection schemes, interlocks, and functional checks.
• Be fully aware of complete Testing & Commissioning (T&C) procedures, documentation, and client approvals.
• Testing & Commissioning Experience
• Transformers (Power & Distribution):Insulation Resistance (IR) & Polarization Index (PI) Tests, Winding Resistance Test (WRT), Transformer Turns Ratio (TTR) Test, Magnetic Balance Test (MBT), High Voltage (Hi-Pot) Test, Vector Group Test Tan Delta Test, Stability Test.

• Transformer Oil Testing: BDV, DGA, PPM (Moisture), Tan Delta Functional & Protection Tests: PRV, WTI, OTI, Buchholz Relay, Cooling Fans, Pumps & Control Circuit Tests
• Circuit Breakers (SF₆ & VCB): Contact Resistance Measurement (CRM), Insulation Resistance (IR) Test, Breaker Timing Test. HT Cables Test: Insulation Resistance (IR) Test, Partial Discharge (PD) Test, High

Voltage (Hi-Pot) Test, Continuity Test, Supervision of HT cable jointing and termination.

• Current Transformers (CTs): Ratio Test, Polarity Test, Winding Resistance Measurement.

• Prepare, review, and control power and control cable schedules, ensuring correct routing, tagging, ferruling, and documentation.

• Handle RFI, ITP/FQP, test reports, method statements, and as-built documentation in coordination with EPC, client, and third-party agencies.

Additional Skill Set:

⚫ Notices of non conformance and corrective actions.

⚫ Ensure compliance of Field Quality Plans.

⚫ Ensure Daily/Weekly/Monthly Quality Assurance reporting.

⚫ Coordination with Quality head & O&M head.

⚫ Investigate incident or defect root cause.

⚫ Lead Internal /external Auditing.

⚫ Good knowledge of report making and mail communication.

⚫ Familiar with soft skill (MS office …. etc.).
