Working Hours: 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM (may extend based on business needs)

Working Days: Monday to Saturday

Reporting To: Operations Director / Senior Management

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Purchase Manager to lead procurement activities, manage supplier relationships, and ensure cost-effective sourcing of stainless steel materials. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in supply chain management, vendor negotiations, and inventory control, preferably within the metals or manufacturing industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute procurement strategies for stainless steel products (sheets, coils, pipes)
• Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with domestic and international suppliers
• Manage purchase orders, track deliveries, and resolve issues related to delays or quality
• Monitor market trends (e.g., LME pricing), raw material availability, and supplier performance
• Maintain optimal inventory levels using forecasting and ERP tools
• Coordinate with internal teams (sales, operations, finance) for planning and budgeting
• Handle import procurement, including duties, letters of credit, and DGFT compliance
• Conduct cost analysis, supplier audits, and risk assessments
• Generate procurement reports (cost savings, supplier performance, cycle times)
• Stay updated on global trade policies, tariffs, and sourcing practices

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field (MBA preferred)
• 5–7 years of procurement experience, with 2–3 years in a managerial role
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
• Preferred experience in stainless steel or metals industry (grades like 304, 316)
• Proficiency in ERP tools (SAP, Tally) and MS Excel
• Understanding of import/export regulations and INCOTERMS
• Knowledge of trade finance and forex risk handling is a plus
• Excellent communication and analytical skills
• Ability to travel for supplier meetings if required
• Fluency in English; knowledge of Hindi is an advantage
