Job Description

We are seeking a proactive Project Engineer to plan, organize, and manage resources to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to required quality standards. This role involves close collaboration with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to guarantee project execution aligns with the plan, with a strong focus on on-site monitoring, issue resolution, and adherence to documentation and safety protocols.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Project Monitoring & Control:
  • Monitor progress of work with respect to the Master project schedule.
  • Monitor the execution of work at site to ensure alignment with drawings and specifications.
  • Provide timely reminders to all contractors about schedule delays.
  • Anticipate and flag imminent bottlenecks, taking steps to avoid delays. Furnish necessary reports of critical and super-critical activities to the client.
  • Monitor construction activity, schedule, milestones, and adherence to budgets, initiating actions to minimize non-conformance costs.
  • Manage the project's risk management process.
  • Implement systems requirements in the installation and test plans of the Contractor until final takeover is completed.
  • Quality & Safety Assurance:
  • Ensure the workability and adherence to standards in the work statement/methodologies submitted by contractors for each item of work, and ensure alignment at the site.
  • Responsible for all site work related documentation for assigned items of work.
  • Assist the QA/QC in-charge in ensuring all quality parameters are met.
  • Assist the safety team in implementing safety standards at the site; provide all support for making job safety analysis.
  • Ensure project construction & safety management plan are fully implemented.
  • Contractor & Resource Management:
  • Advise contractors in enhancing resource productivity by implementing various work study techniques.
  • Monitor procurement of materials, equipment, and labor by contractors with respect to the time schedule and advise suitable measures for improvement.
  • Administer all contracts and assist in the resolution of differences and disputes arising during the contract duration.
  • Provide cost-saving solutions and negotiate contractor change orders.
  • Communication & Escalation:
  • Clarify specifications and continuously liaise with the accountable Project Manager internally.
  • Escalate to the Project Manager about all abnormal developments with respect to progress of work, safety, quality, resources, etc.

Qualifications

  • A B.E. Civil degree.
  • Professional experience in buildings.
