Job Description
A Product Sales Manager for Merchant Acquisition is responsible for acquiring new merchants for payment solutions like POS terminals, managing the merchant portfolio, and driving business growth through a network of retail branches. Key duties include generating leads, onboarding merchants while ensuring regulatory compliance, managing relationships with existing clients, and reporting on sales performance. This role requires sales leadership, a deep understanding of the merchant acquiring business, and collaboration with branch teams to identify and close sales opportunities.
Key responsibilities
- Merchant acquisition: Identify and acquire new merchants for products like Point of Sale (POS) terminals and Bharat QR solutions.
- Sales and lead generation: Work with branch teams to generate leads and close sales opportunities, both independently and through referrals.
- Onboarding and compliance: Onboard new merchants according to regulatory norms, including Know Your Customer (KYC) and other compliance requirements.
- Portfolio management: Manage and service existing merchant accounts to ensure activation, retention, and growth through cross-selling other products.
- Relationship building: Build and maintain strong relationships with merchants to drive revenue and retention.
- Performance reporting: Generate performance reports, analyze sales trends, and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Sales leadership: Recruit, train, and manage sales officers to achieve business goals.
Required skills and qualifications
- Experience: 3-6 years of sales experience, preferably in the merchant acquiring or POS business.
- Business knowledge: Deep understanding of the merchant acquiring business, including costing and pricing models.
- Sales and negotiation: Strong sales, negotiation, and lead generation skills.
- Technical skills: Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Soft skills: Excellent communication, leadership, and customer relationship management skills.
- Education: A graduate degree is typically required.
