Job Description

We are seeking a Process Technology Engineer to manage the lifecycle of customized and standard multi-use and single-use systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for evaluating project feasibility and profitability, providing technical advice, and developing process and system solutions. This role requires a professional who can work in accordance with regulatory environments and serve as a central point of contact in international projects with multicultural teams.

Main Responsibilities & Tasks

  • Evaluate customer requirements for both feasibility and profitability throughout all project phases.
  • Focus on developing process and system solutions for upstream and downstream processing.
  • Provide technical advice to internal and external stakeholders, and create technical solutions in close coordination with customers and sales.
  • Be responsible for equipment selection, including fermenters, bioreactors, TFF, and filling lines, ensuring compliance with ATEX and IECEx standards.
  • Review all aspects of design and construction for consistency and safety, including leading HAZOP and PHA reviews.
  • Determine project costs and conduct profitability checks.
  • Create P&IDs, PFDs, and other design documents during engineering project phases.
  • Support and advise on Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT).
  • Act as a central point of contact in international projects while working closely with Project Managers and Design Engineers.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Biotechnology Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Proven relevant experience in Process Engineering within the biotechnology industry, ideally with experience in Bioreactors, Fermenters, Crossflow systems, and Chromatography.
  • A solid understanding of downstream and upstream processes.

Skills

  • Strong experience in designing processes and utilities, including the preparation of PFDs, P&IDs, and equipment sizing calculations.
  • Experience working with customers and sales teams to create cost quotations.
  • Business-fluent English skills and a willingness to travel nationally and internationally (approximately 10%).
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
