Job Description
We are seeking a Principal Engineer - Project Purchasing to play a pivotal role in supporting our work-share projects between our consultancy and our U.S. parent company. The ideal candidate has 11 to 12 years of procurement experience, preferably in an EPC environment. You will be responsible for ensuring seamless integration by providing timely procurement support and managing the full purchasing lifecycle from RFP to post-order management.
Key Responsibilities
- Procurement Management: Provide procurement support for project-specific items like pressure vessels, rotary equipment, and EI items. You will handle the entire process, including RFP compilation, floating inquiries, bid evaluation, and issuing purchase recommendations.
- Supplier & Internal Coordination: Coordinate with international suppliers for bid clarifications and with your U.S. counterparts to update them on the purchasing status. You will also work with the procurement leadership and project management teams to provide monthly status updates on purchasing activities.
- Invoice & Documentation: Receive and check supplier invoices, ensuring they are properly tagged to projects and processed through our Oracle OnBase application. You will be responsible for tracking the invoice until it is fully processed and paid.
- Negotiation & Contracts: Negotiate with suppliers on terms, pricing, and delivery options. You will also coordinate with internal stakeholders on contractual, commercial, and legal issues.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: 11 to 12 years of procurement experience, preferably in an EPC environment within the Oil and Gas or Transmission and Distribution industries.
- Technical Skills: A good understanding of PO contract terms, logistics, and supplier qualification. You should also have experience with contract formulation activities, systems, and processes. Proficiency with MS Office is required.
- Communication: Strong communication skills, both oral and written, are essential for effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
