Job Description
The role of a Principal Banking Partner - NRI involves acquiring and managing relationships with Non-Resident Indian (NRI) clients, providing tailored financial solutions, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
Core Responsibilities:
- Client Relationship Management: Act as the primary point of contact for NRI clients, understanding their financial needs, goals, and preferences to provide customized banking solutions.
- Business Development & Acquisition: Actively prospect and acquire new NRI clients through various channels, including referrals from existing customers, networking, and outreach efforts.
- Product Cross-Selling: Drive customer engagement by cross-selling a range of investment and non-investment products such as life insurance, general insurance, mutual funds, forex services, remittances, and loans.
- Portfolio Management: Grow the liabilities portfolio by increasing account balances (CASA deposits) of existing NRI customers and enhancing profitability by capturing a larger share of their wallet.
- Financial Advisory: Provide personalized banking and investment advice, keeping clients informed about market trends, interest rate changes, and exchange rate fluctuations.
- Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all operations adhere to internal bank policies and regulatory requirements, particularly the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) regulations related to NRI business.
- Service & Support: Coordinate with internal product and operations teams to provide seamless access to other products and ensure prompt resolution of customer complaints and queries.
- Strategic Planning: Evaluate growth strategies based on competitor analysis and customer feedback, planning and conducting special sales initiatives and events for prospective and existing clients.
Key Skills and Qualifications
- Experience: 6-7 years of relevant experience in branch banking, relationship management, or the financial services industry, with specific exposure to the NRI segment.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of NRI banking products (e.g., NRE/NRO accounts), services, and the associated regulatory framework.
- Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with high-net-worth individuals (HNIs) and their families.
- Education: A bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field is generally required.
- Attributes: Dynamic, results-oriented, customer-focused, with strong sales planning and analytical abilities.
