A Portfolio Manager - Business Banking job involves managing a portfolio of small to medium-sized business clients, ensuring its financial health by monitoring performance, managing risk, and deepening relationships. Key responsibilities include assessing client needs, offering financial solutions, cross-selling products, driving account activation, and ensuring compliance with bank policies and regulations. Key responsibilities
Portfolio management and performance:
- Monitor and maintain portfolio health, focusing on key metrics like interest servicing, delinquency levels, and early warning signals.
- Ensure optimal utilization of approved credit limits by clients.
- Drive renewal of credit limits and identify opportunities for enhancements.
Business and revenue growth:
- Deepen existing customer relationships and expand the client base.
- Drive cross-selling and up-selling of products like POS, CMS, and TFX to both new and existing clients.
- Achieve targets related to new customer acquisition and account activation.
Risk and compliance:
- Monitor portfolio risk and highlight potential stress to internal stakeholders.
- Ensure adherence to credit policies, internal guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
- Take necessary action based on early warning signals and complete required tasks by due dates.
Client engagement and strategy:
- Conduct client visits for credit monitoring and relationship management.
- Promote the use of digital channels like internet banking and mobile apps.
- Suggest policy and process changes to improve customer experience.
Required skills and qualifications
- Skills: Analytical, sales and customer management, risk management, and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge: Strong knowledge of business banking products, market trends, and financial industry.
- Experience: Proven experience in portfolio management, ideally in the financial services sector.
- Education: A bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or a related field is typically required.
