PL/SQL Developer

Responsibilities:

• System Software Development & Analysis: Design, develop, and test system software solutions primarily using Oracle PL/SQL, alongside Python, Perl, and Unix scripting.
• Database Development & Optimization: Possess strong hands-on knowledge of Oracle, including PL/SQL, Triggers, and developing reusable functions. Perform Oracle Query Performance Tuning to ensure optimal database efficiency.
• Data Warehousing: Understand and work independently within a data warehousing solution. (Developing a warehouse is a plus).
• Scripting & Automation: Utilize strong scripting skills, particularly with Python (including Pandas), to automate tasks and develop robust data processing solutions.
• Database Performance Tuning: Apply expertise in database performance tuning to enhance the speed and efficiency of data operations.
• Development Environment Proficiency: Work proficiently with database development environments and tools such as SQLPlus, TOAD, and SQL Developer.
• Project Delivery: Contribute to and deliver good-sized projects, demonstrating end-to-end development and delivery capabilities.
• Operating System Knowledge: Apply good knowledge of Operating Systems and associated commands, particularly UNIX (AIX/Solaris) and MS Windows.
• Source Control Management: Work with Source Control Tools such as SVN, ensuring proper versioning and collaboration.
• Problem Solving: Demonstrate a strong passion for technology, engineering, and problem-solving, contributing effectively to team-based solutions.

Required Skills:

• Minimum 6-9 years of hands-on experience in system software analysis, development, and testing using Oracle PL/SQL, Python, Perl, and Unix.
• Strong knowledge of Relational Databases Management Systems (RDBMS) concepts.
• Hands-on knowledge of Python (& Pandas) and strong scripting skills.
• Expertise in Oracle PL/SQL, Triggers, reusable functions, and Oracle Query Performance Tuning.
• Understanding of data warehousing solutions and ability to work independently in such environments.
• Experience in database performance tuning.
• Hands-on experience with database development environments and tools such as SQLPlus, TOAD, SQL Developer.
• Project development and delivery experience in significant projects.
• Good Operating Systems knowledge and associated commands (UNIX [AIX/Solaris], MS Windows).
• Experience with Source Control Tools such as SVN.
• Knowledge of essential Software Engineering principles.
• Familiarity with Control-M (as mentioned in the job description).
