- This role involves providing educational guidance, sharing clinical expertise, and fostering the development of future pediatric dentists
- Pediatric Dentistry Lecturers work in dental schools, colleges, and educational institutions, contributing to the training of dental students and residents
Key Responsibilities:
- Lecture Delivery: Develop and deliver engaging lectures on various topics related to pediatric dentistry, including child behavior management, dental growth and development, preventive care, restorative procedures, and oral health promotion
- Curriculum Development: Collaborate with academic colleagues to design, update, and refine the pediatric dentistry curriculum, ensuring alignment with current best practices and industry standards
- Clinical Supervision: Supervise and guide students in clinical settings, providing hands-on instruction and oversight during their interactions with pediatric patients
- Case Presentation: Present and discuss clinical cases to demonstrate practical applications of pediatric dental concepts and treatment approaches
- Small Group Discussions: Facilitate small group discussions, case-based learning, and interactive sessions to enhance students' understanding of pediatric dental principles
- Research and Scholarship: Engage in scholarly activities, such as conducting research studies, publishing articles, and presenting at conferences, to contribute to the advancement of pediatric dentistry knowledge
- Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to students, offering academic and career advice to foster their growth as future pediatric dentists
- Examinations and Assessments: Develop and administer assessments, quizzes, and examinations to evaluate students' understanding of the subject matter
- Student Support: Be available for academic advising, addressing questions, and assisting students in achieving their educational goals
- Collaboration: Collaborate with other faculty members, administrators, and professionals to enhance the overall dental education experience
- Continuing Education: Stay updated with the latest advancements in pediatric dentistry through continuous professional development and training
- Ethical and Professional Conduct: Model and promote ethical behavior, professionalism, and patient-centered care in all educational and clinical interactions
