Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

1. Payroll Processing

  • Prepare and process bi-weekly, monthly, or weekly payrolls for employees.
  • Ensure accurate calculation of wages, bonuses, commissions, overtime, and deductions.
  • Verify employee timesheets and resolve discrepancies related to hours worked.
  • Process new hires, terminations, promotions, and other status changes affecting payroll.

2. Compliance Management

  • Stay updated with federal, state, and local labor laws and tax regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with tax withholding and reporting requirements (federal, state, and local taxes, unemployment taxes, etc.).
  • Manage deductions for benefits, retirement plans, garnishments, and other withholdings as per policy and legal requirements.

3. Reporting & Recordkeeping

  • Maintain accurate payroll records including employee information, pay rates, benefits, deductions, and tax filings.
  • Generate and analyze payroll reports, tax filings, and year-end reports.
  • Assist in audits related to payroll, taxes, and compliance.

Educational Qualification & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field (preferred).
  • 2–4 years of experience in payroll processing and data handling.
  • Proven experience (2+ years) in payroll administration or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws, tax laws, and payroll compliance requirements.
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel and payroll systems/software.
