Job Description
As a Music Teacher at Orchids International School, you will be responsible for teaching music theory, vocal training, and instrumental music to students. You will foster creativity and a love for music in students while preparing them for performances, competitions, and cultural events, contributing to their holistic development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct music classes focusing on various aspects of music, including theory, vocals, and instrumental skills.
- Teach different genres of music such as classical, western, folk, and contemporary, based on the curriculum.
- Prepare students for performances in school events, cultural programs, and competitions.
- Assess students' progress and provide feedback to help them improve their musical abilities.
- Organize and lead school choirs, bands, or ensembles, as appropriate.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and creative learning environment in the music classroom.
- Collaborate with other teachers to integrate music into interdisciplinary school activities.
- Maintain and manage musical instruments and resources required for teaching.
- Stay updated with the latest trends in music education and integrate them into lessons.
- Encourage teamwork and discipline through group musical performances.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Music or related field.
- Proven experience as a Music Teacher in a school or educational institution.
- Proficiency in teaching vocal and instrumental music (knowledge of western and/or Indian classical music is a plus).
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to inspire and engage students with diverse musical interests and abilities.
- Good understanding of music theory, history, and performance practices.
- Ability to organize and conduct musical performances and events.
