ORTHOPEDIC SURGEON

An orthopedic surgeon's job includes diagnosing and treating conditions affecting the musculoskeletal system (bones, joints, muscles, ligaments, tendons) through surgical and non-surgical methods. Key duties involve performing surgeries like joint replacements and fracture repairs, consulting with patients, developing treatment plans, managing pre- and post-operative care, and maintaining detailed patient records. Responsibilities and duties

Patient Consultation and Diagnosis:

• Consult with patients to discuss diagnoses, which are determined through physical exams, imaging, and lab tests.
• Treat conditions including fractures, arthritis, and deformities through surgical and non-surgical options.

Surgical Procedures:

• Perform a variety of surgeries, such as joint replacements, fracture repairs, and spinal procedures.
• Utilize both traditional and minimally invasive techniques to improve patient recovery.
• Treat trauma and emergency cases as needed.

Treatment and Care Planning:

• Develop comprehensive treatment plans, including pre- and post-operative care.
• Provide patient education on rehabilitation, physical therapy, and preventative measures.
• Manage all aspects of patient care, from initial diagnosis to final recovery.

Record Keeping and Collaboration:

• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records of histories, diagnoses, and treatments.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as nurses, physical therapists, and other doctors, to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Professional Development:

• Stay current with the latest advancements and techniques in orthopedic surgery.
