Job Description
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Operations Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of financial instruments and trade operations, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. This role is crucial for ensuring seamless client experience by handling trade settlements, cash movements, and various operational tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Trade Operations:
- Demonstrate familiarity with all product and instrument types within the hedge fund world.
- Be familiar with the affirmation, confirmation, and reconciliation of both listed and OTC derivatives.
- Understand the Equity/Bond/Repo Settlement Process.
- Possess familiarity with at least 2-3 of the following third-party vendor tools: CTM, TRAX, Markit Trade Manager, Markitwire, DTCC, and TRAIANA.
- Have knowledge of accessing broker portals.
- Treasury Cash Settlements:
- Be fully familiar with the transfer of funds between accounts in the hedge fund, Private Equity, and Real Asset sectors.
- Have knowledge of wire creation (manual/auto) and the workflow for fund movements.
- Be aware of the importance of currency cut-offs in the settlements world.
- Have familiarity with various types of SWIFT messages.
- Understand cash fails management and how to resolve issues when funds are stuck.
- Be familiar with OTC cash settlements.
About You
- Education: A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or other quantitative subjects.
- Skills & Attributes:
- Strong customer service, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- A committed team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-focused with the ability to multi-task and work in a deadline-oriented environment.
- Adaptive and flexible professional style, capable of working effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong computer skills, with proficiency in Excel and Word, and an aptitude for learning new systems.
- Comfortable communicating with clients and counterparties via email and phone.
- Experience (Beneficial but not essential):
- Exposure to a cash settlements role.
- Experience with ISDA Bi-Lateral agreements and the collateral process.
- Exposure to financial instruments such as equities, bonds, equity swaps, FX, futures, and OTC products.
