Operational Risk Manager

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead a team of skilled risk management professionals with a focus on operations risk.
2. Identify, assess, and mitigate operational risks across all business verticals and support functions.
3. Enhance the organization's Early Warning Signal (EWS) capabilities by designing smart triggers for early detection of risk exposure.
4. Conduct Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSA) to assess process-level risks and controls.
5. Develop and monitor Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and collaborate with departments to design actionable risk mitigation plans.
6. Manage the risk incident database and ensure timely and accurate reporting to stakeholders.
7. Work closely with field risk teams and branch leadership to monitor and escalate operational risks in a timely manner.
8. Provide insights and recommendations to senior management for continuous improvement of the operational risk framework.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience, with at least 3 years in a dedicated risk management function within financial services (Banking, NBFC, or Microfinance).
• Bachelor's degree in Science, Mathematics, Economics, or Engineering.
• Strong analytical skills and understanding of operational processes in financial services.
• Proficient in risk control frameworks, incident management, and risk reporting tools.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to work cross-functionally and drive a risk-conscious culture across departments.
• Knowledge of multiple regional/vernacular languages is an added advantage.

Preferred Candidate Profile:

• Proven track record in risk leadership roles in Banking, NBFC, or Microfinance sectors.
• Strong exposure to field operations risk, especially in distributed branch-led models.
• Experience working with RBI-compliant risk frameworks and regulatory audits is a plus.
• Ability to manage teams and projects independently with minimal supervision.
