Job Description

A Neuro Physician job involves diagnosing and treating neurological disorders by examining patients, ordering and interpreting tests, developing treatment plans, and managing both outpatient and inpatient care. Key duties include consultations, managing conditions like epilepsy and stroke, performing procedures like lumbar punctures, and coordinating with other healthcare professionals. 

Key responsibilities

  • Patient consultations: Conduct outpatient consultations and manage inpatients, including ICU patients with neurological conditions.
  • Diagnosis and treatment: Diagnose and treat a wide range of neurological disorders such as epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, stroke, and Parkinson's disease.
  • Testing and interpretation: Order diagnostic tests, interpret results (including lab work and scans), and use this information to determine treatment options.
  • Patient counseling: Educate patients and their families about their condition, treatment options, and symptom management.
  • Medical procedures: Perform certain procedures, such as lumbar punctures or nerve conduction studies, when required.
  • Coordination of care: Collaborate with other medical departments and healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
  • Emergency response: Respond to medical emergencies related to neurology.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and thorough clinical documentation for all patients. 

Required skills and qualifications

  • Medical degree and a valid license to practice as a Neuro Physician.
  • Specialization in Neurology.
  • Experience in diagnosing and treating neurological disorders.
  • Strong diagnostic and clinical reasoning skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team.
