Network Security Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, configure, and maintain network security infrastructure including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and proxies.
• Monitor network traffic for suspicious activities and respond to security incidents.
• Perform network vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.
• Implement and enforce network security policies and best practices.
• Collaborate with IT teams to integrate security solutions with network infrastructure.
• Manage access controls, firewall rules, and security zones.
• Conduct regular security audits and compliance checks.
• Stay updated with latest network security threats and mitigation techniques.
• Assist in incident response, forensic investigations, and post-incident analysis.
• Document network security architecture, processes, and incident reports.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in network security engineering or a similar role.
• Expertise in configuring and managing network security devices (e.g., Cisco ASA/Firepower, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Check Point).
• Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, etc.) and security concepts.
• Experience with VPN technologies, IDS/IPS systems, and firewall management.
• Familiarity with SIEM tools and network monitoring solutions.
• Knowledge of security standards and frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, CIS).
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Desirable Skills:

• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CCNP Security, CEH, CompTIA Security+, or vendor-specific certs (Cisco, Palo Alto).
• Experience with cloud network security (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Knowledge of scripting or automation (Python, PowerShell).
• Familiarity with network segmentation, Zero Trust architecture, and threat hunting.
• Good communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
