Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Provide specialized medical care to patients with acute and chronic kidney diseases, including dialysis and renal transplant follow-up.
- Manage patients with conditions such as chronic kidney disease (CKD), acute kidney injury (AKI), glomerulonephritis, nephrotic syndrome, and electrolyte imbalances.
- Supervise and manage haemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis treatments, ensuring adherence to clinical protocols.
- Participate in the evaluation, preparation, and post-operative care of renal transplant patients in coordination with the transplant team.
- Perform nephrology-related procedures such as renal biopsies, central venous catheter insertion, and AV fistula care.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including urologists, endocrinologists, cardiologists, and dieticians for comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain accurate patient records, treatment plans, and documentation as per hospital standards.
- Assist in the training and supervision of junior doctors, dialysis staff, and nursing teams.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, CMEs, and departmental meetings.
Desired Candidate Profile
- MBBS with MD in Internal Medicine and DM/DNB in Nephrology from a recognized institution.
- 5 to 6 years of experience in nephrology, including dialysis and transplant exposure.
- Proficient in managing complex nephrology cases and performing related procedures.
- Strong diagnostic skills, patient-centric approach, and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with clinical and non-clinical teams in a high-volume environment.
