Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized medical care to patients with acute and chronic kidney diseases, including dialysis and renal transplant follow-up.
  • Manage patients with conditions such as chronic kidney disease (CKD), acute kidney injury (AKI), glomerulonephritis, nephrotic syndrome, and electrolyte imbalances.
  • Supervise and manage haemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis treatments, ensuring adherence to clinical protocols.
  • Participate in the evaluation, preparation, and post-operative care of renal transplant patients in coordination with the transplant team.
  • Perform nephrology-related procedures such as renal biopsies, central venous catheter insertion, and AV fistula care.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including urologists, endocrinologists, cardiologists, and dieticians for comprehensive patient care.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, treatment plans, and documentation as per hospital standards.
  • Assist in the training and supervision of junior doctors, dialysis staff, and nursing teams.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, CMEs, and departmental meetings.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • MBBS with MD in Internal Medicine and DM/DNB in Nephrology from a recognized institution.
  • 5 to 6 years of experience in nephrology, including dialysis and transplant exposure.
  • Proficient in managing complex nephrology cases and performing related procedures.
  • Strong diagnostic skills, patient-centric approach, and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with clinical and non-clinical teams in a high-volume environment.
