Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced National Sales Manager – Modern Trade to lead and manage the modern trade channel across India. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving revenue, expanding key account relationships, leading a high-performing sales team, and executing national-level strategies with top modern trade chains.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute the modern trade sales strategy to achieve national sales and distribution objectives.
  • Manage and expand relationships with key accounts such as Big Bazaar, Reliance Retail, D-Mart, Spencer's, More, Metro, Amazon Fresh, etc.
  • Drive listing, visibility, and promotion planning with modern trade partners.
  • Negotiate annual contracts, trade terms, and joint business plans with major retail chains.
  • Lead, guide, and monitor a team of regional modern trade managers/executives to ensure execution excellence at the store level.
  • Track and analyze channel sales performance, ROI on trade promotions, and stock hygiene (returns, ageing).
  • Coordinate with marketing, supply chain, finance, and operations for cross-functional support and smooth execution.
  • Plan and oversee in-store activations, seasonal campaigns, and new product launches in the modern trade channel.
  • Monitor competition activities, market trends, and share insights for decision-making.
  • Ensure timely collections and adherence to credit policies.
  • Regularly review channel performance through KPIs and deliver periodic reports to senior management
