Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing Marketing Communications Activities:
- Develops annual communication plan with goals and budgets.
- Prepares working plans to achieve communication goals.
- Tracks progress against goals and takes corrective actions.
- Assists in planning and overseeing mailing activities.
- Maintains and updates corporate ID manual.
- Prepares monthly sales & marketing communications report.
- Oversees photography for advertising and public relations.
- Maintains a master slide/photo/CD library for all communications.
- Supervises in-house art department operations.
- Monitors competitor activities and industry trends.
- Managing Public Relations Activities:
- Acts as official spokesperson for the hotel.
- Responds to media requests within 24 hours.
- Manages media contacts and builds relationships with key media.
- Prepares and distributes press releases.
- Collaborates with corporate press offices to develop story angles.
- Involved in community, government relations, and VIP handling.
- Secures and directs hotel-sponsored events.
- Creates press promotional activities and organizes press events/trips.
- Maintains up-to-date press kits.
- Managing Advertising Activities:
- Works with the DOM and advertising agency on creative campaigns.
- Ensures media activities align with hotel's target segments.
- Reviews hotel market segmentation for advertising efficiency.
- Manages media schedules and ensures timely account settlements.
- Managing Direct Marketing Activities:
- Ensures a consistent image across direct marketing activities.
- Assists in planning and tracking electronic marketing activities.
- Controls the budget for direct marketing.
- Managing Collateral:
- Coordinates and executes production of printed materials.
- Ensures hotel information is up-to-date on the internet/intranet.
- Supervises the production and quality of signage in public areas.
- Budgets for and supervises quality gift items.
- Ensures correct usage of hotel logo on promotional items.
- Oversees in-house graphic designer or print shop.
Candidate Profile:
- Education:
- High school diploma or GED with 4 years of relevant experience, or
- 2-year degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel Management, or related field with 2 years of experience.
