Mould Design Manager

We are seeking a Mould Design Manager to lead our design department, focusing on plastic injection moulds. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in mould design and a strong background in managing a team to deliver high-quality moulds on time for the automotive, engineering, and toy industries.

Role and Responsibilities

• Must have a minimum of 5 years' experience in leading a design department in a tool room.
• Experience in automotive, engineering, and toy mould design preferred.
• Possess hands-on experience in mould design.
• Must be able to work on UG/NX software.
• Must have good knowledge of injection mould design.
• Have knowledge of DFM (Design for Manufacturability) analysis.
• Knowledge of Mold Flow analysis is an added advantage.
• Knowledge of plastic materials and their behavior is essential.
• Be capable of checking mould design concepts and guiding designers to deliver moulds on time.
• Prepare design plans and execute delivery as per customer timelines.
• Interact with customers on technical challenges and provide weekly updates.
• Control rejection and rework in design.
• Have good knowledge of steel materials/standard element selection.

Skills Required

• Leadership and Management: Proven experience in leading a design team.
• Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with mould design, particularly injection moulds, and proficiency in UG/NX software.
• Process Knowledge: Strong knowledge of DFM and plastic material behavior.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and control rejections and rework.
• Communication: Excellent skills in interacting with customers and providing updates.
• Material Selection: Good knowledge of steel and standard elements.
• Analytical Skills: Knowledge of Mold Flow analysis is a plus.
