Job Description
Teamware Solutions is seeking an experienced and visionary Middleware Architect to design, implement, and optimize our enterprise middleware solutions. You'll play a pivotal role in ensuring seamless integration between diverse systems, enabling robust and scalable application ecosystems. This position is ideal for a strategic thinker with deep technical expertise in various middleware technologies and a passion for building highly available and performant integration platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Architecture & Design:
- Lead the design and evolution of the enterprise middleware architecture, ensuring alignment with overall IT strategy and business goals.
- Select appropriate middleware technologies and platforms (e.g., Message Queues, ESBs, API Gateways, Application Servers) based on project requirements.
- Develop architectural blueprints, design patterns, and standards for middleware integration solutions.
- Implementation & Deployment:
- Oversee the implementation, configuration, and deployment of middleware components and platforms.
- Provide hands-on technical guidance and support to development and operations teams during implementation phases.
- Ensure solutions are built for scalability, reliability, security, and performance.
- Integration Strategy:
- Define and implement integration strategies and patterns (e.g., synchronous, asynchronous, event-driven, API-led) for various applications and services.
- Ensure seamless data flow and communication between disparate systems, both on-premises and cloud-based.
- Performance & Optimization:
- Monitor and analyze middleware performance, identifying bottlenecks and implementing optimization strategies.
- Conduct capacity planning and performance tuning to ensure the middleware infrastructure can support growing demands.
- Troubleshooting & Support:
- Provide expert-level troubleshooting and problem resolution for complex middleware issues.
- Collaborate with support teams to maintain the health and stability of production middleware environments.
- Governance & Best Practices:
- Establish and enforce middleware governance policies, standards, and best practices.
- Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and security vulnerabilities in the middleware space.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related engineering field.
- Proven experience (8+ years) as a Middleware Architect or a senior role focused on enterprise integration.
- Deep expertise in one or more middleware technologies such as:
- Message Queues: Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, IBM MQ.
- Enterprise Service Bus (ESB): MuleSoft, Apache Camel, WSO2, IBM Integration Bus.
- API Management: Apigee, Mulesoft API Manager, Azure API Management, AWS API Gateway.
- Application Servers: JBoss, WebLogic, WebSphere, Apache Tomcat.
- Strong understanding of integration patterns, microservices architecture, and cloud-native integration.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and deploying middleware components in cloud environments.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
Preferred Skills
- Relevant certifications in middleware technologies or cloud platforms.
- Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines for middleware deployments.
- Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
- Knowledge of security protocols and standards for integrations (e.g., OAuth, SAML, TLS).
