Job Description

Job Responsibilities:

  • Contract and close local catering and social business.
  • Ensure timely and proper turnover of business for quality service delivery.
  • Achieve catering revenue goals through active up-selling of each business opportunity.
  • Implement brand service strategy and initiatives in all sales processes.
  • Drive customer loyalty through excellent service delivery at every stage of the customer experience.

Candidate Profile:

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED; 2 years of experience in sales/marketing, guest services, or related fields; OR
  • 2-year degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major; no prior work experience required.

Core Work Activities:

Managing Sales Activities:

  • Manage local corporate and social catering sales for the hotel.
  • Collaborate with off-property sales channels (Sales Office, Area Sales, EST) for coordinated and complementary efforts.
  • Respond to incoming catering opportunities for the hotel.
  • Identify, qualify, and solicit new catering business to meet revenue goals.
  • Understand market conditions (competitors, trends, supply, and demand) to sell effectively.
  • Close high-value opportunities based on market needs.
  • Negotiate contracts using creative selling techniques.
  • Design and sell creative catering events and packages.
  • Maximize revenue by up-selling food and beverage packages.
  • Manage catering sales revenue, operational budgets, and provide forecasting reports.
  • Develop menus that drive sales.
  • Oversee operational aspects of catering business (proposals, contracts, customer communication).
  • Support the hotel's service standards and resolve guest issues during the sales process.
  • Ensure a return on investment for the company and owner.

Providing Exceptional Customer Service:

  • Interact effectively with sales teams, kitchen, vendors, competitors, community, and other hotel departments to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Execute customer service standards and brand guidelines to drive satisfaction.
  • Assist customers by understanding their needs and recommending appropriate services to exceed their expectations.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, understanding their business needs.
  • Collaborate closely with operations for seamless execution of strategies.
