Medical Officer

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain a professional approach with all patients, staff, and visitors at all times.
• Work within the limits of experience and competence; report verbally and in writing to the nurse in charge if asked to perform tasks beyond competence.
• Provide routine and emergency medical cover during duty hours, collaborating with other RMOs to ensure a 24-hour hospital service.
• Assess and clerk urgent admissions when the relevant consultant is unavailable.
• Conduct daily morning and evening ward rounds, ideally with nursing staff, ensuring patients are properly assessed and appropriate notes are recorded.
• Observe procedures in theatre with consultant and ward manager approval, remaining available to return to wards or departments as required.
