We are seeking a skilled Medical Coder specializing in surgery coding and quality analysis to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 2-6 years of experience in medical coding, focusing on surgical procedures, with a strong commitment to accuracy and compliance in coding practices.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze clinical documentation to ensure accurate coding of surgical procedures.
• Assign appropriate codes for diagnoses and procedures according to ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS guidelines.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and coding queries.
• Conduct quality audits of coding practices to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• Stay updated with the latest coding guidelines and regulations pertaining to surgical coding.
• Provide training and support to junior coding staff and peers.
• Prepare reports on coding accuracy and compliance for management review.

Skills and Qualifications

• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or equivalent certification is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology related to surgical procedures.
• Proficiency in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
• Experience with electronic health records (EHR) and medical coding software.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with healthcare professionals and team members.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
