Description

We are seeking a skilled Medical Coder to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for translating healthcare services into codes that are used for billing and insurance purposes. This role requires a keen eye for detail and a thorough understanding of medical coding standards.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze clinical documents to ensure accurate coding of diagnoses and procedures.
• Assign appropriate codes using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve any discrepancies in coding.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding guidelines and regulations.
• Participate in coding audits and quality assurance activities.
• Ensure compliance with health information management policies and procedures.
• Assist in the development and implementation of coding education programs for staff.

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management, Medical Coding, or related field.
• Certification in Medical Coding (CPC, CCS, CCA, or equivalent) is preferred.
• Proficiency in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in coding.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills for collaborating with healthcare professionals.
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and coding software.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
