Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage the design, fabrication, and erection of structural equipment such as platforms, support structures, pipe racks, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and storage tanks.
  • Ensure compliance with engineering drawings, layouts, and international standards (ASME, API, AISC, IS codes, etc.) .
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams for seamless execution.
  • Review and approve structural calculations, material specifications, and fabrication drawings .
  • Conduct site inspections, quality checks, and audits for structural equipment.
  • Monitor contractor and vendor performance, ensuring work is completed within schedule, budget, and quality standards .
  • Identify and resolve technical issues, design discrepancies, and execution challenges .
  • Ensure compliance with HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) guidelines and best practices .
  • Support pre-commissioning and commissioning activities of structural equipment.
  • Maintain project documentation, reports, and progress tracking.

Skills Qualifications:

  • BE/BTech/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering .
  • 5-10 years of experience in structural equipment design, fabrication, and installation in the Chemical/Process Industry .
  • Strong knowledge of structural design standards (ASME, API, AISC, IS codes, etc.) .
  • Experience in handling various structural materials (MS, SS, Alloy, etc.) .
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, STAAD Pro, Tekla, Navisworks, and MS Office is an advantage.
  • Excellent understanding of welding, NDT, bolted connections, and load calculations .
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, contractors, and deadlines efficiently.
  • Handle, install, and commission specialized equipment like glass-lined, graphite, and PFA-lined systems.
  • Supervise the installation of piping systems (carbon steel, stainless steel, alloys) and mechanical systems.
  • Review and interpret PID, Isometrics, GAD, PFD, and layout drawings.
  • Lead crane operations and develop lifting plans for delicate equipment.
  • Ensure safety protocols are followed for fragile equipment handling.
  • Manage contractors and coordinate effectively with internal teams and vendors.
  • Experience in Cross country pipeline projects.
  • Strong problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.
