Market Data Technology API Engineer

Vendor API Knowledge: Excellent knowledge of vendor APIs across different programming languages, and a thorough understanding of market data content from different vendors and their delivery mechanisms.

Industry Regulations: Solid understanding of industry regulations and what drives business competitive edge in terms of data quality and latency.

Technical Proficiency: Capable of rapidly mastering complex systems to efficiently troubleshoot and solve problems.

Collaboration: Coordinate with UBS business and IT teams, MDS analysts, and support staff to address market data issues and requests.

Project Coordination: Efficiently coordinate and report on global MDT projects, leveraging deep technical expertise in market data systems, APIs, content, vendors, and supporting infrastructure.

Your Role:

API Advisory: Provide API advisory for UBS business and IT teams, covering all LSEG's data and platforms, as well as other market data vendors like Bloomberg and Factset.

Application Development: Work with application teams to provide advisory and guidance for new application development

Technical Development: Develop MDT connectivity components across multiple platforms as well as issue investigation/resolution for existing applications.

Project Management: Manage and report weekly on your assigned activities and projects.

Documentation - Product Handover: Handover developed products, documentation and provide training to the larger engineering and operations team.

Product Support: Provide 3rd level SME Support for all released products when requested.

Vendor Upgrades and Tests: Deliver and support all mandatory internal and external exchange testing and vendor upgrades.

Compliance Activities: Handle compliance activities around new and existing products, including vulnerability management and regulatory reporting as required.

Vendor Exchange Notifications: Monitor vendor exchange notifications and inform – assist application teams as required.

Incident Management: Represent the MDT team as a subject matter expert on incident management calls.

Your Team:

You'll be working in the Global Market Data Technology team within Applications - End User Services

Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years' experience with demonstrable knowledge in Market Data Technology, in particular relating to products from LSEG, Bloomberg and Factset.
• Minimum of 5 years' developer experience, preferably in the finance sector, working with LSEG APIs
• Strong understanding of Linux and Windows operating systems.
• Thorough understanding of Routing and network topology firewalls Etc.
• 3 years' experience in Software release mechanisms, preferably Gitlab
• 1-2 years' experience working with Azure Cloud services
•
