Team Overview

• This role is part of the Global Market Data Technology team within Applications – End User Services.
• The team focuses on delivering, integrating, and supporting market data platforms, APIs, and infrastructure across the organization.

Role Overview

• The Market Data API Engineer will lead the design, deployment, integration, and support of market data systems and APIs (primarily LSEG/Refinitiv), while ensuring robust governance, infrastructure stability, and compliance.
• The role requires strong technical expertise across Linux/Windows environments, Market Data APIs, networking, monitoring systems, and cloud fundamentals.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Market Data Technology, especially with LSEG, Bloomberg, and Factset products
• At least 5 years of developer experience (preferably finance domain) working with LSEG APIs
• Strong knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems
• Solid understanding of routing, network topology, and firewalls
• Minimum 3 years of experience in software release mechanisms (preferably GitLab)
• 1–2 years of experience working with Azure Cloud services

Role Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, configure, and support Refinitiv/LSEG RTDS/TREP Market Data Infrastructure, including optimization and tuning
• Work extensively with Market Data APIs such as LSEG Real Time SDK and legacy APIs, troubleshooting multi-language programs (C, Java, C#, Python)
• Perform deep data content diagnostics with emphasis on LSEG product sets
• Implement and support ITRS GENEOS monitoring systems, including dashboard design, testing, and analytics
• Perform Linux administration including process monitoring, service management, filesystem navigation, and TCP diagnostics
• Handle Wintel administration tasks such as service control and directory operations
• Diagnose and support TCP/network issues, understanding routing conventions and configurations
• Participate in project planning by coordinating with business leads, end users, and vendors, documenting roadmaps and integration activities
• Perform infrastructure upgrades for software, hardware, desktop components, and vendor packages
• Work closely with operations teams to plan deployments and environment changes
• Utilize Azure Cloud fundamentals for hybrid infrastructure integration
• Use GitLab for release management and deployment workflows
• Serve as third-level escalation for API, data, infrastructure, and desktop issues
• Contribute to in-house tool development for diagnostics and market data support
• Liaise with QA, deployment, and business teams for application onboarding
• Provide support for market data desktop applications (Bloomberg, LSEG Eikon/Workspace, Factset Terminal)
• Engage in special projects including system design, automation, and performance optimization

Beneficial Skills

• Linux packaging (tar/scp/rpm) and system tuning
• Familiarity with Linux hardware components (Solarflare NICs, CPU/thread binding)
• Strong shell scripting skills
• Database knowledge (Oracle, Sybase, PostgreSQL)
• VMware design (UEM, DEM)
• Experience with Bloomberg BPipe and BAMS monitoring
• Knowledge of internal/external contribution systems (e.g., Oraise-Picos)
• Ability to research and present emerging technologies to the team
