Job Description
Technical / Managerial Responsibilities
- Manage the development, testing, and deployment of Embedded Devices integrated with on-premises and cloud environments.
- Oversee the development of wireless technologies, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and others.
- Lead technical project planning and execution for high-impact initiatives, ensuring timely delivery and technical excellence.
- Drive functional excellence within the R&D team, delivering high-quality technical outputs and leading significant technology developments.
- Provide strategic guidance and technical direction on architecture, design approaches, and engineering methodologies.
- Lead the software development process, including planning, code reviews, code hygiene, and alignment with product milestones.
- Foster a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion in hiring and team development.
- Mentor, train, and motivate team members, providing career development support and maintaining a high-performing engineering team.
- Assign and schedule resources across projects to meet delivery dates and cross-functional R&D objectives.
Business Responsibilities
- Drive financial accountability across projects, contributing to R&D budgeting, forecasting, and expenditure tracking at the business unit level.
- Collaborate with senior leadership on customer-centric initiatives, including Voice of Customer (VoC) activities and product design refinement.
- Engage with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and strategic customers to align technical development with business and clinical needs.
- Support business and financial modeling for specific product segments or business functions, contributing to strategic execution.
Medical Device Compliance Responsibilities
- Lead teams and cross-functional partners to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for medical device development.
- Provide direction on design controls for new and existing processes/products, ensuring alignment with regulatory standards.
- Review and approve (or delegate) project-specific technical documentation, ensuring compliance and quality deliverables.
Minimum Qualifications (Required)
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering or related technical field.
- 8+ years of relevant experience, including 2+ years of direct people management experience (preferred).
Preferred Qualifications
Technical Skills
- Experience with the Linux Kernel and related low-level software development.
- Hands-on expertise in Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or other wireless technologies.
- Demonstrated ability to deploy embedded systems in both on-premises and cloud environments.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS or GCP and their core services.
- Basic understanding of encryption protocols such as TLS.
- Knowledge of MQTTS protocol for secure messaging.
Leadership Experience
- Proven ability to coach high-performing teams, provide actionable feedback, and manage individual/team performance.
- Understanding of the healthcare technology market and competitive landscape.
- Experience with talent and performance management strategies.
- Ability to communicate complex technical and strategic plans clearly to cross-functional stakeholders.
- Track record of delivering programs on time, within scope, and on budget.
