Manager Engineering, Remittance & Posting

Job Responsibilities

• Provide managerial oversight of multiple scrum teams to deliver products, considering both individual performance and team goals and ensuring alignment with the overall product line objectives.
• Develop your team to grow them as engineers and as people, to make their development positions at athena their 'best job ever.'
• Maintain technical knowledge of product architecture and provide connective tissue, manage dependencies; ensure delivery of quality releases in partnership with product management and other engineering teams.
• Desire to manage ambiguity, investigate grey areas and improve clarity for internal and external stakeholders.
• Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and high performance within the engineering team.
• Develop and implement processes to optimize engineering workflows and efficiency.
• Recruit, hire, and onboard top engineering talent.

• Manage engineering budgets and resources effectively.

Typical Qualifications

• Possess over two years of experience in leading teams within a product-oriented company, with expertise in the Java/J2EE frameworks, knowledge of Unix/Linux, relational databases, and a working knowledge of any modern JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular, and Vue.js.
• Demonstrate a working knowledge of Cloud Services, AWS/Azure.
• Exhibit strong experience in Agile methodologies and possess excellent technical knowledge in software development, maintenance, and production support, including expertise in web technologies, cloud computing, databases, and APIs.
• Maintain a proven track record of fostering professional development among employees, maximizing individual potential, and building and scaling high-performing engineering teams, with a keen understanding of team needs to provide opportunities for growth and learning.
• Have a history of successfully delivering results while balancing priorities to ensure timely delivery, demonstrating excellence in team leadership and collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Possess substantial experience in risk management and planning.
• Exhibit excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
• Hold a bachelor's degree or an equivalent qualification.
