Job Description
We have an urgent requirement of 'Manager - CPS (Propulsion)'. Candidate should be qualified in B.Tech/BE or M.Tech. Work experience with a sound understanding of Mechanical Engineering principles (showing an attention to detail, and being data driven). Candidate should be known.
- Engineering change implementation
- Leading / supporting root cause analysis in quality / field failures
- New product and process improvements
- Product management in PLM and SAP
- To assist project management
Role & responsibilities
- To deliver systems/components design / development from concept to delivery from specification, through analysis, testing and development, to engineering sign-off
- Create system and component specifications and design (cascaded from product engineering / programme targets) using the relevant analysis tools to support data driven design decisions
- Experienced on engine components design like crankshaft; Piston, ring pack, pin, clips, connecting rod, small and big end bearings, crank, main bearings, thrust washers, crankshaft damper; bushings, chains, belts, tensioners, guides for off Highway Engine using UG NX
- Experience on Team Centre is preferred
- Prepare and maintain engineering release and change documents
- Knows, follows and uses the design standard documents, DFMEA, PPAP, DVP, Control Plan & GD&T
- Co-ordinate DVP tests/analyse
- Resolve engineering issues using recognised methodologies
- Coordination with other functional areas, such as programme teams, purchasing, quality, plant operation team/ other development teams
- Work in a simultaneous engineering environment to support the development plan, ensuring design for manufacture and assembly
- Good communication skill having ability to provide clear communication and support to all customers, engineering teams and suppliers
- Work with suppliers to deliver prototypes and PPAP parts to schedule, meeting quality and performance requirements
- Communicate lessons learned, propose design guide/process updates
- Manage suppliers via APQP process
- Worked in the area of Diesel Engine Design preferably Off highway machines
Required
- Have a sound grasp of the engine product development cycle and expertise in engine system and component specification, design, development and sign-off (using relevant tools)
- Ideally, have experience with an engine manufacturer or Tier 1 supplier in current product Engineering
- Demonstrate project and supplier management skills and good commercial awareness
- Show flexibility - the role requires travel to customer and supplier sites as and when required
