Mainframe Developer

• The Mainframe Developer will design, develop, test, and support mission-critical applications on mainframe systems.
• The role requires strong hands-on expertise in COBOL, JCL, DB2, and VSAM, along with familiarity with CICS/MQ series, to deliver high-quality software solutions in the credit card domain.

Responsibilities

• Develop, code, unit test, and implement mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, and VSAM
• Analyze complex business requirements and translate them into technical specifications and designs
• Optimize application performance to ensure efficient use of software and system resources
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues to maintain system stability
• Write and execute unit test scenarios to ensure high code quality and reliability
• Collaborate with peers and Product Owners to review and validate design specifications
• Maintain documentation of business processes, technical specifications, and development artifacts
• Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle including design, development, testing, deployment, and support
• Work on CICS/MQ series environments and support integration with other systems
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to process enhancements

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
• 8–10 years of overall hands-on development experience in mainframe technologies
• Strong expertise in COBOL, JCL, DB2, and VSAM
• Experience with CICS and MQ Series
• Exposure to Credit Card domain applications is preferred
• Knowledge of Java or JSON-LD is a plus
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a team environment
• Flexible to work on rotational shifts and 5 days in-office (WFO)
