Linux APT

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Open-Source Testing Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in open-source testing, with a deep understanding of Ubuntu distribution, Debian package installation, and Ubuntu Core.

This role requires proficiency in shell scripting, Python scripting, and a solid grasp of Ubuntu internals.

Experience with Ubuntu Launchpad, preparing test strategies, and collaborating with global teams is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute test plans for open-source projects.
• Perform testing on Ubuntu distribution, including Debian package installation and Ubuntu Core.
• Write and maintain shell scripts and Python scripts for automation and testing purposes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Ubuntu internals and server environments.
• Utilize Ubuntu Launchpad for bug tracking, code hosting, and project management.
• Prepare comprehensive test strategies and documentation.
• Collaborate with global teams to ensure seamless integration and testing processes.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of testing methodologies and tools.

Qualifications:

• Strong experience in open-source testing and quality assurance.
• In-depth knowledge of Ubuntu distribution, Debian package installation, and Ubuntu Core.
• Proficiency in shell scripting and Python scripting.
• Solid understanding of Ubuntu internals and server environments.
• Experience with Ubuntu Launchpad and its various functionalities.
• Ability to prepare detailed test strategies and documentation.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working in global teams.

Experience:

• 8+ years of relevant experience in the field.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools.
• Familiarity with other Linux distributions and open-source projects.
• Knowledge of version control systems like Git.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
• OR Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
• OR PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
• 2+ years of work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
