LEAD TECHNICAL WRITER

Job Summary

An experienced documentation professional who takes full ownership of content modules and ensures their quality, consistency, and timely delivery. Demonstrates mastery in authoring technical content aligned with established style guides and documentation lifecycles. Operates with minimal supervision, guides junior team members, and resolves complex documentation challenges by applying deep knowledge of tools, standards, and domain-specific insights.

Key Responsibilities

• Understand new or existing product/feature/concept documentation requirements.
• Author content aligned with customer-specific style sheets and guides.
• Rapidly acquire domain knowledge and translate it into clear, structured documentation.
• Implement the Document Development Life Cycle (DDLC) process across all deliverables.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior writers and review their work.
• Maintain high standards in grammar, technical clarity, and consistency.
• Coordinate with engineering, product, and customer teams for clarifications and feedback.
• Support publishing and versioning of content using established tools and platforms.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering / MCA or equivalent technical education
• 5–8 years of experience in technical writing or related content development roles

Competencies & Skills

• Strong command of English grammar and business/technical writing style
• Proficiency with tools such as:
• Documentation Authoring: Framemaker, Arbortext, MadCap Flare, MS Office, MS Visio
• Content & Version Control: SVN, Confluence
• Image & Graphic Editing: SnagIT, Paint, Photoshop, CorelDRAW
• Publishing Tools: RoboHelp, WebWorks

Technical Exposure

• Platforms: Windows, Linux, Solaris
• Standards: MSTP, Document Development Life Cycle
• Languages: HTML, XML
