Job Description
Role Summary:
Veolia Water Technologies Solutions has an opening for a Lead Researcher in Energy Chemicals Solutions division that focuses on Research Development of Oil Gas Production, Transportation, Refinery, and Petrochemical Process Chemicals. Seeking a highly motivated candidate with a strong background in Electrochemistry, Chemical additives, and knowledge of Structure-property pertaining to Oil Gas Sector. This position is a laboratory scientist position where the successful candidate will be performing chemical bench work as the principal duties of the job.
Responsibilities / Expectations:
- Effectively engage in research, development, and commercialization of innovative treatment programs for hydrocarbon processing in Oil Gas Production, Refining, and Petrochemicals applications
- Develop and perform customized lab test methods to evaluate chemical product efficacies for different process applications
- Establish specifications and physical testing requirements for new products based on application needs
- Direct Material Productivity (DMP) with greater understanding through novel ideas and data generation inclusive of IP landscaping.
- Assess and validate market needs through direct interactions with external and internal customers including Product Applications, Solution Architect, and Sales teams; travel up to 20% of the time may be required.
- Managing 2 to 4 projects simultaneously
- Participate in Customer interactions, field visits and enabling technical discussions with product application
- Contribute and participate to new idea generation (NPIs)
- Interact with and provide support to commercial, field service, product management, supply chain, vendors and clients throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Communicate research results to internal and external stakeholders through reports and presentations
- Execute assigned New Product Introduction (NPI)/ Ready-to-Serve (RTS)/
- Experience Required: 3-8 Years of hands-on lab experience
- Key Skills:
- Industrial research experience with hydrocarbon production and processing applications
- Strong fundamental understanding of underlying electrochemical processes and concepts related to different types of corrosion
- Hands-on experience with experimental test methods relevant to chemical additive applications in the Oil gas production and refining industries.
- Familiarity with different corrosion control methods
- Hands-on lab experience in synthesis, formulation development and product performance evaluation
- Knowledge of analytical characterization methods typically required to support product development
- Familiarity with Intellectual Property related processes and tools.
- Knowledge of operating High pressure systems
- Good analytical competencies
- Familiarity to ensure compliance with Environment, Health, Safety
- (EHS) regulations and procedures
- Skills on writing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Risk
- Assessment (RA) and preparing the reports
- Knowledge of Sustainable chemical solutions
- Time management, planning team player
- Fluent in spoken and written English
