Job Description
- Define, design, develop, and verify next-generation instruments, documenting progress during concept, feasibility, design & development, and verification phases.
- Design and develop complex electro/optical/thermal mechanical parts and assemblies, considering DFM, reliability, cost, and human factors.
- Solve sophisticated engineering problems, conduct empirical studies, analyze data, and communicate results.
- Write and release Design Change Orders (DCOs) for engineering drawings and Bills of Material (BOMs).
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, NPI, Quality, Supply Chain, Regulatory, and Customer Care to manage project timelines, scope, risks, and issues.
- Perform hands-on prototyping using machine shop tools such as 3D printers, laser cutters, lathes, and drills.
