Job Description
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Lead Functional Consultant / Solution Architect with deep domain knowledge in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (F&O), specifically in Finance and Project Management & Accounting (PMA) modules.
This role requires a hands-on leader who can drive solution architecture, delivery governance, and client engagement for project-driven organizations. You will play a pivotal role in aligning product capabilities with business goals using industry best practices and scalable solutions.
Core Responsibilities
Solution Ownership & Delivery
- Lead the end-to-end functional solutioning of D365 F&O implementations focused on Finance and PMA modules.
- Own the design, configuration, and deployment phases of full-cycle implementations.
- Drive adoption of product-standard features to ensure scalable and sustainable solutions.
Functional Expertise & Domain Alignment
- Provide deep functional knowledge across GL, AR, AP, Fixed Assets, Budgeting, Cash & Bank, Financial Dimensions, Period Close, Consolidation, and related finance processes.
- Lead PMA module configuration including project setup, WBS, contracts, revenue recognition, cost tracking, and milestone billing.
- Ensure financial compliance with standards like IFRS, GAAP and align project billing with models such as T&M, fixed-fee, milestone-based.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
- Engage with business stakeholders to gather requirements, define scope, and articulate D365 capabilities.
- Guide decision-making across design choices, integrations, and reporting strategies.
- Collaborate with technical and cross-functional teams to manage dependencies.
Governance & Quality Control
- Lead workshops, design reviews, and walkthroughs to ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Maintain oversight on solution governance, data quality, localization, and compliance requirements.
Reporting & Data Enablement
- Define and support financial and operational reporting using tools like Power BI, Excel, and standard D365 reporting tools.
- Enable data structures that support accurate and real-time reporting across multiple legal entities.
Qualifications & Experience
Experience:
- 10–12 years of functional consulting experience in Microsoft Dynamics AX (2009/2012) and D365 F&O
- At least 3–4 full-cycle implementations specifically in Finance and PMA modules
- Exposure to multi-entity, multi-currency rollouts, and financial consolidation
Education:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Commerce (B.Com/M.Com) or a qualified Chartered Accountant (CA)
Domain Skills:
- Strong conceptual and practical knowledge of finance, accounting standards, and project billing practices
- Industry exposure to project-based sectors such as professional services, consulting, or construction is preferred
Tools & Platforms:
- Hands-on experience with Power BI, Azure DevOps, Lifecycle Services (LCS), Excel-based integrations
- Familiarity with Microsoft ecosystem, including Power Platform and D365-native reporting tools
