LEAD ENGINEER - PS/CP - RAN/CN

Job Summary

A seasoned telecommunications engineer with 5–8 years of experience in the design, development, and maintenance of protocol stack and call processing applications across Radio Access Network (RAN) and Core Network (CN) domains. This role demands a comprehensive understanding of 3GPP/ETSI standards, strong debugging expertise, and experience working on carrier-grade middleware across real-time OS environments. The engineer contributes to high-quality solution delivery, technical mentorship, and continuous system-level performance improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze requirements, perform feasibility studies, and estimate efforts with risk mitigation at a system level.
• Design, code, debug, and sustain protocol stack layers (L2 and above) for 2G/3G/4G/5G and SATCOM systems.
• Ensure traceability from design to delivery and optimize code for performance and maintainability.
• Conduct technical reviews, identify risks, and own the quality of key deliverables.
• Guide junior engineers, support upskilling initiatives, and contribute to training plans.
• Collaborate with customers and interfacing groups for issue resolution and clarification.
• Participate in strategic technical initiatives and contribute to proposal and documentation efforts as needed.

Education & Experience

• Qualification: B.E./B.Tech, MCA, or equivalent
• Experience: 5–8 years in telecom protocol development and system integration

Technical Competencies

• Protocol Stack Expertise:
• Call processing and OAM module development across 2G, 3G, 4G, 5G, VSAT-SATCOM
• Familiarity with 3GPP/ETSI standards, layers L2 and above
• Platforms:
• Carrier-Grade Middleware (User Space), CG Linux, VxWorks
• Programming Languages:
• C, C++, Scripting (Bash, Perl, Python, Expect)
• Tools:
• GDB, ClearCase, Wireshark, Klocwork, Purify
