Inviting applications for the role of Lead Consultant -SQL Server Admin
We are looking for an experienced SQL Server Lead Consultant to manage, optimize, and secure enterprise database environments. The candidate will be responsible for SQL Server administration, performance tuning, high availability architecture, and database security, while leading database operations and supporting mission-critical applications.
Responsibilities
.Install, configure, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server environments (2016/2019/2022).
.Manage database backups, recovery, patching, and upgrades.
.Monitor database health, performance, and availability.
.Implement and manage SQL Server Always On Availability Groups.
.Configure Failover Clustering, Log Shipping, Replication, and Disaster Recovery strategies.
.Ensure RPO/RTO objectives are met for critical systems.
.Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
.Perform query tuning, index optimization, and database optimization.
.Monitor resource utilization using SQL monitoring tools.
.Implement database security best practices including:
oRole-based access control
oEncryption
oAudit logging
.Support vulnerability remediation and compliance requirements.
.Automate database administration tasks using:
oPowerShell
oT-SQL
.Develop scripts for maintenance, monitoring, and reporting.
.Monitor database performance and proactively resolve issues.
.Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for database incidents.
.Ensure minimal downtime and high system reliability.
.Support SQL Server deployments in cloud environments such as:
oMicrosoft Azure
oAWS RDS for SQL Server
.Plan and execute database migrations (on-prem to cloud).
.Act as technical lead for database administration activities.
.Collaborate with application teams, infrastructure teams, and security teams.
.Provide guidance to junior DBAs and support operational excellence.

Minimum Qualifications / Skills
.Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent

.Experience with Azure SQL Database / Azure SQL Managed Instance
.Experience with DevOps and CI/CD integration for databases
.Knowledge of database security and compliance frameworks
.Experience in large enterprise environments
.Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
.Excellent communication and stakeholder management
.Ability to work in 24/7 production environments
