Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
1. Central Distribution Management
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the central distribution center (CDC) or hub.
- Plan and execute dispatches to regional warehouses, retail outlets, or customer locations.
- Ensure accuracy in order picking, packing, and shipment.
2. Inventory Control & Logistics
- Monitor and manage inventory levels to prevent stockouts or overstocking.
- Coordinate with procurement, planning, and store teams for accurate demand forecasting.
- Optimize inventory turnover and storage space utilization.
3. Team & Vendor Coordination
- Lead and supervise warehouse teams, shift managers, and logistics staff.
- Coordinate with third-party logistics (3PL) providers for transportation and last-mile delivery.
- Manage vendor SLAs, ensure compliance with safety and delivery standards.
4. Technology & Systems Oversight
- Ensure proper use of Warehouse Management System (WMS), ERP, or Distribution Management Systems (DMS).
- Track orders, dispatches, and returns through automated tools and dashboards.
- Drive digital transformation initiatives in distribution processes.
5. Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure adherence to safety, statutory, and quality standards across warehouse operations.
- Prepare daily/weekly MIS reports on inventory movement, shrinkage, fulfillment rates, and delivery KPIs.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and cost reduction programs.
