Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

1. Central Distribution Management

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the central distribution center (CDC) or hub.
  • Plan and execute dispatches to regional warehouses, retail outlets, or customer locations.
  • Ensure accuracy in order picking, packing, and shipment.

2. Inventory Control & Logistics

  • Monitor and manage inventory levels to prevent stockouts or overstocking.
  • Coordinate with procurement, planning, and store teams for accurate demand forecasting.
  • Optimize inventory turnover and storage space utilization.

3. Team & Vendor Coordination

  • Lead and supervise warehouse teams, shift managers, and logistics staff.
  • Coordinate with third-party logistics (3PL) providers for transportation and last-mile delivery.
  • Manage vendor SLAs, ensure compliance with safety and delivery standards.

4. Technology & Systems Oversight

  • Ensure proper use of Warehouse Management System (WMS), ERP, or Distribution Management Systems (DMS).
  • Track orders, dispatches, and returns through automated tools and dashboards.
  • Drive digital transformation initiatives in distribution processes.

5. Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure adherence to safety, statutory, and quality standards across warehouse operations.
  • Prepare daily/weekly MIS reports on inventory movement, shrinkage, fulfillment rates, and delivery KPIs.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and cost reduction programs.
