Job Description
A Key Account Manager for Startup Banking is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with key corporate clients, especially startups, by acquiring new clients, increasing revenue, and ensuring client satisfaction. This role involves understanding client needs, cross-selling banking products like business loans and credit cards, resolving issues, and ensuring regulatory compliance. A strong focus is placed on understanding and adapting to the specific needs of the startup ecosystem, which can be fast-paced and innovative.
Core responsibilities
- Client Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key corporate clients, acting as their main point of contact.
- Business Development: Proactively acquire new corporate clients and grow relationships with existing ones to increase the bank's liability base and market share.
- Sales and Cross-selling: Achieve sales targets by promoting and selling a wide range of banking and third-party products, such as business loans, credit cards, and savings accounts.
- Client Service: Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by addressing client needs, resolving complaints, and coordinating with internal teams to deliver seamless service.
- Compliance and Operations: Adhere to all bank policies, KYC guidelines, and regulatory requirements, ensuring all processes are followed correctly.
Required skills and qualifications
- Education: This role requires a bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field. An MBA is often preferred.
- Experience: Several years of experience in banking, financial services, or a related sales role, with a preference for experience with startups or the startup ecosystem.
- Skills:
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple clients and priorities simultaneously.
- Knowledge of banking products, services, and regulations.
- Analytical skills to track performance and identify opportunities.
- Familiarity with CRM software and MS Office is often beneficial.
