Java Backend Developer / Java Backend Engineer

About the Role

We're hiring seasoned Java Backend engineers to build and scale cloud-ready microservices using Java (8+), Spring Boot, and Spring Cloud. You'll design robust REST APIs, implement event-driven integrations (e.g., Kafka), and optimize data access with JPA/Hibernate and MySQL. (Skills aligned with candidate patterns we're seeing: Spring Boot microservices, JPA, MySQL, Agile.)

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy Spring Boot microservices with RESTful APIs and inter-service communication via Spring Cloud (Feign/Eureka/Load Balancing).
• Model and optimize data access with Spring Data JPA/Hibernate and MySQL; tune queries and caching for performance.
• Apply secure coding and API standards (OAuth2/JWT, input validation, exception handling, Swagger/OpenAPI).
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, unit/integration testing (JUnit), code reviews, and Agile ceremonies (Scrum).
• Troubleshoot production issues; drive performance improvements and reliability SLOs.

Must-Have Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend development with Java 8+ and Spring Boot.
• Hands-on building microservices with Spring Cloud (Eureka/Feign/Config/Load Balancer) and REST APIs.
• Proficiency in JPA/Hibernate, MySQL, and performance tuning (profiling, query optimization).
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum, JIRA, and JUnit testing practices.
