Job Description
- Key Responsibilities:
- SCOM Configuration and Management:
- Configure and maintain SCOM monitoring for EUC devices, including workstations, laptops, and other endpoint devices.
- Design, configure, and implement monitoring solutions for critical EUC services and components.
- Implement SCOM management packs and ensure proper integration with EUC-related tools and applications.
- Manage SCOM dashboards and alerts to ensure timely detection of performance issues or failures within the EUC environment.
- End-User Computing (EUC) Tool Integration:
- Integrate SCOM with other EUC management tools for centralized monitoring and management, including SCCM, Intune, Workspace ONE, etc.
- Provide technical expertise for integrating EUC tools with SCOM to ensure seamless data flow and performance visibility across platforms.
- Monitor and report on end-user device health, software deployments, and compliance statuses.
- Monitoring and Incident Management:
- Proactively monitor the EUC environment using SCOM and related tools to identify, report, and resolve performance issues and incidents.
- Set up and manage alert thresholds, ensuring that system events are logged and escalated to the appropriate teams.
- Provide incident management support, including troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving issues related to SCOM alerts, device performance, and EUC tools.
- Automation and Reporting:
- Automate monitoring tasks and report generation to ensure accurate and timely visibility into the health and status of EUC infrastructure and devices.
- Create and deliver customized reports and dashboards based on business requirements, ensuring comprehensive monitoring and visibility into EUC operations.
- Develop and maintain automated workflows for issue resolution and device remediation using SCOM and other EUC tools.
- Capacity Planning and Optimization:
- Assist with the capacity planning for EUC infrastructure (hardware and software) to ensure optimal performance and resource allocation.
- Monitor device usage patterns and trends to predict potential issues and recommend improvements in the EUC setup.
- Perform regular health checks and tune the SCOM environment to ensure the optimal performance of monitoring processes.
- Collaboration and Support:
- Work closely with the EUC management team, networking, security, and application teams to ensure optimal configuration and performance of EUC systems.
- Provide technical support for end-user devices, ensuring that all systems are operating according to organizational standards.
- Ensure that patching, updates, and upgrades for SCOM and related EUC systems are implemented according to industry best practices and security guidelines.
- Documentation and Knowledge Sharing:
- Develop and maintain up-to-date documentation for SCOM configurations, monitoring setups, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Document and maintain best practices for managing and optimizing EUC devices using SCOM.
- Share knowledge and provide training for team members and other stakeholders related to SCOM and EUC management tools.
- Security and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with security policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements in the monitoring and management of EUC environments.
- Ensure that monitoring practices are in alignment with the company's data protection and privacy guidelines.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Stay updated on the latest developments in EUC monitoring tools, SCOM enhancements, and best practices in the industry.
- Actively contribute to the continuous improvement of monitoring processes, EUC environments, and related systems.
- Suggest and implement optimizations to improve the overall efficiency and effectiveness of SCOM and other EUC management solutions.
- Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 2-4 years of hands-on experience working with SCOM (System Center Operations Manager) and EUC management tools.
- Strong knowledge of EUC devices and infrastructure, including laptops, desktops, mobile devices, and virtual environments.
- Experience with SCOM management packs, alert management, and custom monitoring.
- Knowledge of Active Directory, Windows OS (Windows 10, Server), and networking concepts in the context of EUC environments.
- Familiarity with SCCM, Intune, and other endpoint management tools.
- Strong skills in PowerShell scripting and automation.
- Knowledge of cloud-based EUC solutions (e.g., Microsoft 365, Citrix, Workspace ONE) is a plus.
