IT Infrastructure Systems Engineer

Role Overview

As a System Engineer on the IT Operations team, you'll play a vital role in supporting Alter Domus' infrastructure during U.S. business hours. You'll provide direct technical expertise, assist in infrastructure-related projects, and ensure high performance and stability across a wide range of platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to infrastructure-related incidents and requests during U.S. time zone hours
• Provide hands-on technical support to IT teams on specific projects and requests
• Contribute to the delivery of infrastructure projects—balancing scope, cost, time, and quality
• Collaborate with team members across IT Operations to troubleshoot and deploy infrastructure services
• Monitor and measure availability and performance of critical systems and platforms
• Enforce operational procedures to maintain a safe and clean working environment

Technical Competencies

• Strong knowledge of Microsoft technologies: Server/Client OS, Active Directory, SQL
• Experience with virtualization tools such as VMware
• Proficiency with Microsoft Azure and Office 365 cloud solutions
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals and standard protocols
• Working knowledge of Citrix platforms (CVAD and/or DaaS, Gateway)
• Experience with Managed Services, Cloud environments, and monitoring/reporting platforms
• Familiarity with ITIL framework, ticketing systems, and change management workflows

Your Profile

• 10+ years of experience in systems engineering; former System Engineer experience is a strong plus
• Advanced experience with Citrix solutions and components
• PowerShell expert with proven scripting capabilities
• Skilled in coordinating with multiple third-party vendors and service providers
• Proven ability to thrive under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
• Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative, team-focused mindset
• Fluent in English (written and spoken), with excellent communication across all organizational levels
• Comfortable working in multi-time-zone environments and handling global stakeholders
• Demonstrated success in navigating complex client demands, building consensus, and delivering results
