Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Design Implementation: Architect scalable, secure, and reliable cloud platforms and services, adhering strictly to industry best practices. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meticulously define requirements and translate them into strategic technical solutions.
- Infrastructure Automation: Develop and oversee Infrastructure as Code (IaC) templates and automation scripts using Terraform, Ansible AWX, AWS CloudFormation, ensuring consistent and efficient cloud resource management.
- Cloud & On-prem Integration: Lead the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of cloud infrastructure, extensively employing automation to streamline processes. Drive continuous innovation to enhance the scalability and performance of production infrastructure.
- Policy Compliance Oversight: Enforce company and industry standards in system administration. Oversee the implementation of security tools and system endpoint security policies to ensure robust compliance and data protection.
- Project Leadership: Manage the entire lifecycle of complex infrastructure projects, including network integrations, data center builds, and hardware refreshes. Act as a key liaison between stakeholders and technical teams to ensure comprehensive project success.
- Performance Optimization: Utilize monitoring tools to track system performance, proactively diagnose issues, and implement effective optimizations. Lead efforts to improve system reliability and efficiency across the organization.
- System Administration: Oversee the administration of Windows (Windows Server 2012, 2016, 2019) and Linux (CentOS, Ubuntu, Red Hat) server environments, ensuring high availability, reliability, and optimal performance across multiple platforms.
- Automation Strategy: Identify and drive automation opportunities across both Windows and Linux systems to streamline server provisioning, configuration management, monitoring, patching, and software deployment.
- Automation Development: Design and develop robust automation solutions using Python, Ansible, and Terraform to simplify complex workflows, significantly reduce manual intervention, and improve overall operational efficiency.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Ansible AWX, Python, and Terraform for managing cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and on-premises resources.
- Cross-Platform Integration: Ensure seamless integration of Windows and Linux environments, developing and implementing cross-platform automation solutions that effectively support business operations.
- Process Improvement: Continuously analyze existing processes to identify areas for automation, providing actionable recommendations to improve productivity and reduce operational costs.
- Collaboration: Work closely with DevOps, Engineering, and Application teams to define automation requirements and seamlessly integrate automation tools into development and deployment workflows.
- Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Oversee server performance monitoring, proactively identify potential issues, and provide comprehensive solutions to resolve problems across both Windows and Linux environments.
- Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation on automation processes, system configurations, and troubleshooting procedures. Share knowledge and best practices with team members to foster collective growth.
- Security & Compliance: Ensure all automation processes and system configurations strictly comply with company security policies and industry standards.
Qualifications
Experience Required:
- Technical Delivery: Minimum of 3-6 years of experience in delivering technical projects, with at least 4+ years specifically in public cloud environments (AWS, Azure preferred).
- Agile Methodologies: Proven experience in leading projects using Agile Development Practices, fostering collaboration and iterative delivery.
- Communication & Collaboration: Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, provide mentorship, and cultivate a highly collaborative team environment.
- Security & Automation Expertise: Proven experience in configuring security tools, implementing endpoint security policies, and scripting automation (preferably in Python, PowerShell, or Bash).
- Technical Proficiency:In-depth knowledge of infrastructure technologies, including network, data center, hardware, and software.
- Expertise in troubleshooting complex issues in both Windows and Linux environments.
- Extensive experience in Windows Server administration (Windows Server 2012, 2016, 2019).
- Proficiency in Linux server administration (CentOS, Ubuntu, Red Hat).
- Strong hands-on experience with automation tools such as Python, Ansible, and Terraform.
- Solid experience in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform for provisioning and managing cloud infrastructure.
- In-depth knowledge of key Windows technologies (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, IIS, Group Policy).
- Expertise in Linux services (Apache, Nginx, MySQL, Postfix, etc.).
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and automation integration.
- Strong experience with configuration management tools like Ansible.
- Leadership Skills: Proven leadership skills with experience managing a team of system administrators.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex system, application, and network issues in both Windows and Linux environments.
- Communication & Collaboration: Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Emerging Technologies: Ability to stay abreast of emerging infrastructure technologies and best practices, driving innovation and strategic growth within the organization.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications: Such as Microsoft Certified: Windows Server, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE).
- Containerization: Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Monitoring Tools: Knowledge of monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Prometheus, ELK Stack) for system performance and log management.
- CI/CD & DevOps: Good to have experience with CI/CD pipelines and automating workflows within DevOps practices.
- Version Control: Understanding of Git or other version control systems for managing code changes.
- Security Best Practices: Knowledge of security best practices in system administration and automation
